Raimutin • Timor Leste
Timor-Leste is one of the world's youngest countries, having only existed since 2002. Coffee is quickly becoming the most important export commodity for the small nation as its working towards economic and social stability.
This coffee comes from the Atsabe Wet Mill, founded in 2018 near the Raimutin Village in collaboration with Raw Material Coffee. Cherries are collected daily from the farms around the wet mill. It has been natural processed on raised drying beds for 21 days.
Since Timor-Leste is such a young origin, they are able to adopt best practices for their coffee production and uses a mixture of African beds, local bamboo beds and stackable Colombian beds for their coffee drying. This allows them to employ the strengths of several schools of thought in their production.
